What separates this system from competitors is Fusions high degree of reliability and accuracy, the many software options, and the ability to manage your fuel usage in new and more efficient ways. The system is delivered with a solid touch display with a bracket type of your choosing. It displays information about RPM, litres/NM, total consumption and more. The display layout and displayed information can be user configured or altered at the factory to conform to each operator preferences. The Fusion flow meters have a very high tolerance against oscillation in the fuel lines, high pressures and temperatures. All components in the engine room are designed to be 100% waterproof, as well as shock tolerant. A typical Fusion system consist of flow meters for the supply- and return line, RPM sensor and a junction box for connecting all sensors up to the bridge DAU (Data Acquisition Unit). The DAU is a touch screen computer displaying the key information of your choosing. Fusion™ highlights:
• Extremely accurate reading of fuel consumption: Each fuel meter has a accuracy of 0,1% or better, due to built-in temperature compensation and fine-tuning of each meter before shipment. Some similar systems have a tolerance of 4% or worse: For instance, say you are trying to find fuel savings of 2%, if you have a system with a fault tolerance of 4% this will not be possible. Therefore Fusion has been designed to meet very high standards of accuracy.
• Sensors with high tolerances. The fuel meters has been designed to tolerate the oscillations to be found in the fuel line, as well as high pressures and temperature: Statoil use the exact same sensors in their sub sea gas pipe installations to measure flow around their hydraulic valves when they are opened or closed.
• All components in the engine room are designed to be 100% waterproof, as well as shock tolerant.
• The flow meters has an ”fail-open” geometry for uncompromised vessel safety. Patented technology enables full fuel flow even in the unlikely event that one flow meter should fail.
• The system is delivered with a solid touch display with a bracket type of your choosing. It displays information about RPM, litres/NM, total consumption and more. The display layout and displayed information can be user configured or altered at the factory to conform to each operator preferences. The DAU shows both numeric and “analogue” data for more meaningful information to the ships operator: By glancing at the display one can quickly confirm if the level of consumption is at acceptable levels from the colour of the gages.
• The DAU has a built-in hard drive which can store consumption data for later analysis and reporting with the aid of Fleet Manager Software. The hard drive can store many years of consumption data, before it needs to be reset. Data is extracted by USB- stick or sent via satellite.
• The DAU accepts input from GPS (NMEA), which enables the operator to integrate vessel position and speed when reporting or analyzing consumption data using either Fleet Manager or Event manager software.
• By using the Event manager software option the DAU can be set up to send automatic fuel consumption reports at regular intervals via e-mail to the operator’s main office.
• By using the Fleet Manager Software option one can analyze fuel consumption in great detail, by plotting many variables like speed and consumption, or RPM and consumption. One and also compare many vessels by plotting them in the same graph overview. Consumption data can be analyzed for short periods, or for an entire year or more. You will have a selection of preconfigured reports, and you will also have to opportunity to configure custom reports.
